Considering this is my favorite second home on the internet- I have decided to release some very important news via TMN.  The decision I have made haven't come easy nor will it be an easy journey.

Well as many of you know today we begin the second leg of our 2010 Summer Tour, and today we are in New Orleans, LA, USA.  I would like to remind everyone that you can follow the tour on twitter @molsen23 I use the hashtag #tmnmo to organize my tour related tweets. Yesterday I received via courier three brand new (used) illusions to add to my collection; these include: an appearance of a jet on-stage. A vanishing of an audience member (in which they don't know the method), and another that shall remain "anonymous" for the time being at least.

These illusions are being worked in as well as my current projects SnowStorm and Flight!

Also, I'm collaborating with my good friend JC Sum once again, and will be producing for my show a modern take a classic magic effect- more to come later.

For the first time in my career I have designed and built an illusion that i'm actually terrified to use. SnowStorm is a 35 foot tall by 40 foot wide actual tornado built using a myriad of high powered fans, and valves; the internal winds can reach speeds in excess of 40 MPH. 

The Effect:

On an empty stage a gentle snow begins to fall allowing us to daydream back into our past and recall the first time we witnessed real magic in our life. Out of nowhere a blizzard erupts into a swirling vortex of snow... seconds later it dissipates revealing our illusionist standing where only seconds before a massive tornado of snow existed. 

This blog post isn’t so much magical as it is me realizing how everything in life always comes full circle. There are so many things that have happened in my life over the past 14 months (some good, some bad, some amazing, some sad, and some I have chosen to forget.)

As many of you know my very first performing job was at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fl, I spent 6 years working there every single day, and is the one thing in my life that has made me the person I am today… thru budget cuts I was forced to step down from my position, but still have managed to perform at least once per month, and have always maintained that commitment even thru the trials of running my own business, and struggles of working on my own magic act and the careers and events of others. Earlier today, I received a phone call stating that my former position had become available and I was invited to come back as if I had never left.

Despite my saying that if they ever called and offered it back I would jump as the chance; however, I couldn’t give them an answer- I needed more time…. I needed time to figure out what I wanted and how I was going to make everything in my life workout.

  As many of you heard, our first test of Flight was a complete success; granted we only tested it to about 60% of its capabilities; but nonetheless a success. 

... I just realized this site has a new wave of visitors that are probably confused right now so i'll rewind back to the beginning...

The journey began about ten years ago when I went and saw my very first illusionith show, who? You might ask; who else but David Copperfield. David Copperfield is famous for some incredible levitation effects and more recently his "Flying" Illusion.

Ever since I was little, like most kids, I wanted to fly; I took flying lessons as a teenager- even wanted to fly to the moon or mars as an astronaut. When I got into magic, that dream got pushed to the back burner of my career and I started to focus on the duties of my chosen profession as an agent. 

Eventually as time passed I rediscovered that dream while listening to James Horner's amazing score for the movie 'Apollo 13.'   But with that dream came the longing to push it further than has ever been done. Flight: An impossible levitation using NO wires, cables, ropes, harnesses, or platforms. Impossible yeah pretty much until a brainstorming session with some of the brightest engineers in the world- where we unlocked the secret to "Flight" itself.

Wow, this monumental- for the first time in 2009 things are going GREAT in my life. First, I will be launching my newly re-designed website January 1st, 2010 . Second despite all the initial problems I have a booming business and have the honor of watching 6 men and 2 women astonish and amaze hundreds of people each time they hit the stage (such an inspiring feeling.)

Also recently the muse's have allowed me the inspiration to help make another person's dreams come true- Mr. Vincent Marra; through shear luck, I struck on an idea that just may help this 'little' site blast off in to a booming community able to gain the respect of it's competition. Which if that wasn't enough- in a three hour sitting  conceived, designed, and blueprinted three (3) mid-size effects to be used in a stage show- one of which is based on a virtual idea that I think I might just call "The Magic Network.com" (should be a lot of fun to let an audience member open up photoshop and erase the illusionist who's standing on stage!!!) More on that later.

Also by the way I get to stand beside some great minds in the magic world and judge TMN's new video contest and make someones dreams all come true- life is truly magical. Until next time
