So I went to a trade show, great place to do some performing and hand out a business card to potential clients.

I was talked with a guy who invented his own type of cooking spray and said he needed an idea to advertise more, I told him I could do that threw performing. he asked me to show him a trick (as my wife said "oh dear") I started in, she knows once one trick is done I keep going. At least get a routine in.

I started off with an easy two card Monte, impressed he was and so was everyone else watching even a little 12 year old that seem to poke his head in to see. "I do magic" he said, "I buy everything, do you know ellusionist". Well hearing that I gave him congrats on being a magician and acknowledged ellusionist. From there I went into my acr routine " I know how he did that" said the boy. Well by this time I had maybe 12 people standing around enjoying the magic, including the boys parents, agreeing out loud that there son could do that as well. I was starting to get nervous, this kid is killing me. I looked and seen he was on his ipad, good I can keep entertaining and he'll be melting his mind away with that.

From the acr I went into fallen, this is a angle sensitive effect so as I did it I adjusted my self and some people did not get to see what was happening, bad on me. Little boy watched and heard that some people did not get to see. On the ipad once more I was about to get in to the my final part. When he said " Anyone who didn't get to see can watch right here, and also how it's done". WHAT!!!!

The people that didn't see went over and the ones that wanted to see "How it was done" crowded around the little boy. This has never happened to me, youtube on demand. I spoke up and said " that's just peoples ideas on how they think it's done, and if your a real magician you don't tell our secrets".

Well dad gave me a look to kill, so I graciously walked over and told him politely, "This is my job, this puts food and clothes on my kids and that is wrong, sorry." He didn't like that I had well "Balls", he told me that the internet is for everyone to put whatever and show anyone. Well that was the end of that. I had people staring at me with disappointment that they knew the trick and all interest in the magic was lost. Know one had any interest in the little boy anymore either, Best quote for this situation " They'll flatter you for the secret, but once they know it your nothing to them".

Well I put my tail between my legs and walk away, I'm glade for the situation because it gives you a chance to learn and take something from it, I hope also it helps some of you if ever in a situation like this, the more and more I think about it coming up with your own stuff seems better, it's not exposed all over youtube. I have a lot of my own and do perform it but there is still some things that are just a joy to perform.

Thanks for reading
