The Magic Network has a points system to reward you for your participation in the community and for referring your friends to the site.  Here is some info about it:

 Why have I set up this system?

I really want to encourage users to take part in The Magic Network, come back often, and invite their friends.  The more active users we have here, the better the site is for everyone.  Everyone benefits from the points system - you benefit by getting rewards, status, free advertising and discounts on advertising, our other members benefit by being able to participate in a thriving community, and the site benefits by getting a lot of active users.  The more active users the site has, the more exposure our members will get, and around and around it goes.

How can you earn points?

Join The Magic Network - 1 time bonus of 10 points awarded when you join The Magic Network

Login to The Magic Network - 2 points, awarded once per day.

Update your status on your profile ("My Thoughts") - 1 point, awarded once per day.

Submit a FAQ with an answer to the site FAQ - 5 points, must be approved before points are awarded.  Only unique, quality submissions will be approved for points.

Become a fan of the Magic Network on Facebook

- 20 points.  Send a PM to V Marra with your Facebook name to get the points.  Go to this link: http://www.facebook.com/themagicnetworksite  to become a fan.

Upload a Video to the site Video Gallery - 5 points

Rate a Video in the site Video Gallery - 1 point

Invite a Magician - 10 points.  Your invitee must also register for the site in order to get the points.  These points are awarded automatically when the invitee joins.  You can invite an unlimited number of magicians, but your invitations will be monitored to ensure they are legitimate.  We cannot verify 100% that everyone you are inviting is a magician, but we will use our own judgement to determine this, based on the user's profile and their participation in the site.  Generally, if the person is truly interested in magic and being a magician, even as a hobby, it is acceptable.

Start a forum thread - 5 points

Reply to a forum post with a reply greater than 60 characters - 2 points

Write a blog post - 6 points

Add a listing or review to the reviews - 5 points per listing and 5 points per review

Benefits of earning points:

1 - Promote your website

Run an advertisement on The Magic Network in any one of the sites ad spots (Ad will be put in priority sequence and will be run when the ad spot becomes available).
Awarded each time a new point ranking level is reached.

2 - Improve your natural search engine rankings

Get a "follow" link to your site added to The Magic Network's sidebar, such that it is always displayed.
Awarded each time a new point ranking level is reached.

3 - Win prizes

Periodically we will run contests or giveaways in which the site member that earns the most points in a given period of time will win a prize.  For example, we might say that the user that earns the most points between July 1 and July 31 will win a prize.  The user that accumulates the most points during the given period (not the user with the most points at the end of the given period), wins the prize.  The points earned can still be used towards items 1 and 2 above as well.

4 - Trust and Status

Each time you reach a new rank with your points, you will gain site benefits and special accesses and priveliges, such as access to private groups that are open only to members of the same ranking, discounts on advertising, and more.  Your ranking will be displayed on your profile page.
