MAPro’ Magic are an online magic store, but for one day only we will be leaving the confines of cyberspace and opening a Magic Lounge, Bar and Store in the very heart of York City Centre for you.

You will have over a thousand products to browse, from beginner to professional, standard effects, accessories and Qualatex balloons. Take the opportunity to check out some of the latest releases from the UK & US, including effects from Alakazam, Paul Harris, Wayne Houchin, Aaron Fisher and many more.

Come along and see us, you can have a chat and a coffee, maybe lunch and browse the store. Spend all day with us or pop in to say hello whilst visiting York. It’s only a short walk from the city car parks and the railway station.

The venue is at 10 Little Stonegate. The room is accessible from the rear courtyard of Stonegate Yard Bistro, Little Stonegate, York

We will be open from 10.30AM until 4.00PM.

I really wish I lived in the UK so I could come, it sounds like its going to be awesome. A day of magic is a great day for sure. I think that's what Rufiange meant too when he said "that's tight" in his post above.

We will have a HD camera on the day and will be inviting those who come along to perform a piece to camera and record a video message.

We can then send them their clip to use as they wish, and we will post to YouTube tagged to them.

What would be the best way to do a web feed at a magic event then?

Video conf', Skype, message board, forum or other.

All your advice would be welcome.

PS the 13th August event has already had ticket enquiries with no advertising, ticket prices or acts confirmed!!!

I haven't tried Skype for live video broadcasts, but it looks like it can be done:

The only problem with using Skype is that your viewers will probably also need to have it, which is not a huge problem since it is free and most people have it anyway.

Another option that I would look into would be to do a broadcast via your website. Depending on what CMS you use for your website, there are usually plugins that you can install that will allow you to do a broadcast right from your site.

For example, if you use Joomla, the following plugin is available:

It looks like the above is also available for Wordpress, here is their website:

Try a Google search for the name of your CMS and "live video streaming" or "video broadcasting" and see what comes up.

Write up a thread when its all finished, I'd love to hear about how it went.

Today was absolutly fantastic (awsome even).

I didn't get chance to take photo's or video, but some of the lads did. I will post something when i have them.

Everyone who came was keep for another, but if i do i want to add to it. Already decided to do a couple of showcase demo's at set times, routines with several related products, ie bottle caps, coins, rope etc.

Would be nice to have a lecture, but puts a lot of pressure on the event as i don't want a door charge.

Thought a web conference might be good, web link with a similar dealers event in the states. that way his customers could see my demo's and mine see his etc...

Any one on here fancy it and know a smallish dealer that would be up for it.

Any one got any other ideas?
