I was lucky enough to get David Leon's Intuition effect recently, and let me say up front that I like it a lot!
Here is the premise and how it plays out: You put an envelope with a prediction card inside onto the table. You can also just write your prediction on a piece of paper if you want and hand it to your participant folded up.
You then ask your participant to choose any number between 1 and 52. You then hand the deck to the participant, and ask her to deal out the cards, stopping at the chosen number. The participant then sets the card off to the side, and you ask her to deal out the remaining cards, to be sure that there is a full deck of cards there.
You then show the faces of all the cards in the deck, showing that all the cards are different. Then, you put the deck aside, so you have the chosen card and your prediction side by side.
You then reveal that the prediction matches with the chosen card, and everyone cheers and screams with amazement, declaring you the chosen one and erecting a statue in your honour.
As I said, I like this effect and it has some good presentational possibilities. Using your imagination, you can do variations on the effect. Basically, the deck you receive with this effect will allow you to always know the card that will be at the chosen number. So, you can use it to force a card, predict a card as described above, or any other presentation that you can come up with.
David Leon has put a lot of work into this product. You get a DVD on which David explains the whole effect and takes you through everything you need to know. You also get written instructions where everything is really clearly laid out, so that you know exactly what you need to do. You also get the Intuition deck, which is a Bicycle deck that will allow you to perform this mini-miracle.
This is an easy effect to perform with no sleight of hand required. All you need is a very small amount of memory to be able to do it right. The reset can be done in about a minute or less.
All in all there are really no downsides to this effect, as long as you don't mind carrying the deck with you to perform it. You can't perform it twice for the same person (unless you but two Intuition decks of course), but then again, most effects can't, or shouldn't, be performed twice for the same person, so I don't really see that as a downside.
This effect is definitely very clever, check it out. You can also see another review of it at Jamie Grant's Magic Friday Blog:
